As the world races to develop a vaccine against Covid-19 private companies are coming up with more and more innovative ideas to combat the spread of the virus. With the novel coronavirus now widely believed to be airborne, the use of face masks has become part of daily life and in many countries it has been made law to wear them in public spaces. Taking that logic to the next level is Canadian company Vyzr Technologies, which has designed a futuristic helmet to protect against Covid-19.

BioVyzr spec similar to professional medical equipment

The BioVyzr, which came into being through a crowd funding scheme, is capable of purifying air through its Powered Air Purifying Respirator and is similar to the specialist helmets that medical staff use in controlled environments. The helmet consists of an adjustable neoprene vest, silicone and vinyl and is fitted with an N95 air filter.

The whole kit weights less than a kilo and 1.25 kilos with a battery pack fitted, which allows for 12 hours of use.
