Will The Haunting of Bly Manor have a second season?
The Netflix original supernatural horror show premieres on Friday 9 October but how long will fans have to wait for the next instalment?

The Haunting of Bly Manor is one of the most hotly-anticipated horror shows of 2020 and fans of the first season, The Haunting of Hill House, will have been waiting eagerly.
The new season is again created by Mike Flanagan and will this time be based on Henry James’ 1898 novel 'The Turn of the Screw'. Along with a similar name many of the same cast are on board although the plot is completely separate from the previous instalment's. The likes of Victoria Pedretti and Oliver Jackson-Cohen will assume new roles for the nine episode narrative.

The second instalment in the Haunting Of anthology
The first season, released in October 2018, was named after Shirley Jackson’s 1959 gothic horror novel described by The Guardian as “the definitive haunted house story”. That nine episode series scored 93% on Rotten Tomatoes and Netflix were quick to snap it up on a multi-season deal.
The season that debuts on Netflix on 9 October will be the second chapter in the Hunting Of anthology and Cindy Holland, vice president of original content at Netflix, believes that fans will love The Haunting of Bly Manor:
“Mike Flanagan and Trevor Macy are masterful at creating authentically frightening stories that leave audiences on the edge of their seats, but unable to look away,” she said.

Will there be a third season of Haunting Of and what can fans expect?
Exact details of the multi-year deal between Flanagan and Netflix are unknown but cinematographer James Kniest told Digital Spy that he thinks that a third season is likely:
"I think there’ll be another instalment. I think the audience is going to really demand it, especially after Bly. It’s a really fun concept. It must be fun for Mike as a creator and writer to mine some of our historical literature to find these really interesting stories."

As the first two seasons are based around classic novels it seems likely that the next instalment will follow that trend. Flanagan’s producing partner, Trevor Macy, revealed in a chat with Vanity Fair that they intend to stick to a similar formula for each season of the anthology:
"The process is the same, in that it's a literary remix. You want to update the story, you want to find whatever fertile ground for elevating the character that you can in the source material,
