Aspetar reaffirms commitment to supporting Asian football
The AFC praised the sports medical hospital for its part in staging the Asian Champions League while Aseptar reiterated its goal to provide care for all.
Aspetar, Qatar’s specialized sports-focused medical and orthopedic hospital, has reiterated its commitment to supporting the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and providing medical care for all in line with the working collaboration between the two institutions, recently on display during the 2020 AFC Champions League.

"We have been delighted to be part of the latest AFC Champions League 2020,” Aspetar said on social media. “As one of the AFC Medical Centres of Excellence, Aspetar continues to support the development of Asian football by raising standards in sports medicine ensuring world-class healthcare to teams & players.”
For its part, the AFC praised the role played by Qatar in helping the AFC Champions League competition to be completed this season by offering up World Cup facilities to host games. South Korea’s Ulsan Hyundai were crowned champions at the Al Janoub Stadium in Doha after defeating Persepolis.
Aspetar applied its medical protocols to both the AFC Champions League eastern and western zone games staged in Qatar, carrying out thousands of tests on players, coaches, match officials and other staff members of all teams to eliminate any obstacles that might have prevented the tournament from being completed due to the coronavirus pandemic, which at one stage threatened to see the AFC Champions League cancelled entirely.
AFC praises Aspetar for Champions League solutions
The Aspetar protocol provided a solution in the face of the global covid-19 crisis by staging the AFC Champions League in Doha, while also allowing the Qatar Stars League season to be completed and the current campaign to begin without any issues or delays.
The praise garnered by Aspetar from the AFC for its efforts is another success story for the pioneering hospital, which enjoys partnerships and agreements with various sporting organizations and institutions worldwide. It also added increased confidence in the role of Aseptar in Asia to the extent that its involvement in future AFC tournaments is guaranteed.
