Mourinho warns Gareth Bale over Real Madrid return

It's not often that a player is threatened that if he doesn't improve then he may find himself in the ranks of arguably the world's biggest club, Real Madrid. But that appears to be exactly what happened to Gareth Bale.

Bale threatened with Madrid return

As Tottenham Hotspur players went through their training session ahead of their Premier League game against bottom club Sheffield United, an off camera conversation was picked up by nearby microphones.

"You want to stay here?" manager José Mourinho said to the Welshman. "Or go to Real Madrid and play no football?" he completed the rather harsh questioning.

Unfortunately no response was picked up from Bale but no doubt there will be a question or two headed Mourinho's way at the next press conference.

Bale is on loan from the Spanish champions at his old club for a season but has hardly featured thus far. Some in England are maybe starting to understand now why he was not managing to make himself a consistent part of Zinedine Zidane's team at the Bernabéu.
