Granada vs Barcelona: how and where to watch - times, TV, online

FC Barcelona are looking to take a step closer to the Copa del Rey title and Ronald Koeman’s men have the chance to do so against Granada at the Estadio Nuevo Los Cármenes on Wednesday evening.

But the team from Southern Spain won’t make life easy for the Catalan club, having recorded a 6-0 win over, admittedly lowly, Navalcarnero in the last 16. In LaLiga, though, Diego Martínez’s outfit were not able to extend that flurry of goals against Celta Vigo, who managed to hold the Europa League contenders to a goalless stalemate at the weekend.

Granada want to surprise a solid Barça

Granada, sitting eight in the standings with 29 points, haven’t won in their last three league games, while Barcelona are probably in their best moment of the season, as the Catalan powerhouses have won their last four matches since they lost the Spanish Super Cup against Athletic Club. Moreover, the Catalan team have won their last five LaLiga games and haven’t been defeated in their last 10.

The 'Blaugranes' overtake Real Madrid in LaLiga

Barça seem to have recovered from their bad start of the season and have now overtaken Real Madrid to go second in LaLiga table. However, the reality is that leaders Atlético Madrid are one of the most solid teams in Europe, not to say the most, with 10 more points than Barcelona, with one match in hand, and just one defeat in 19 games.

The Spanish Cup, "the shortest route" to lift a trophy

Koeman is well aware of those stats, as he recently admitted that the Spanish Cup “is the shortest route to winning something”, and a 31st Copa del Rey triumph is still on the cards. Barcelona achieved a 4-0 victory last time both teams played and eight of the last nine meetings between them ended with Barcelona winning.

Eteki back into action

Granada’s Yan Eteki could be back into action after being suspended, while Neyder Lozano and Maxime Gonalons are both injured.

Alberto Soro and Roberto Soldado will likely feature from the start after scoring against Navalcarnero, while second-choice goalkeeper Aaron Escandell could be the chosen one again.

Roberto and Busquets, back

As for the visitors, Neto will continue in goal and Sergi Roberto could be back after being injured for several weeks. He could take Óscar Mingueza’s spot in defence.

Koeman will be able to call upon Sergio Busquets again, as he back from suspension and will probably be back in midfield together with young sensation Riqui Puig.

Koeman doesn’t want surprises and will put out a competitive team but is likely to make changes regardless. American striker Martin Braithwaite will probably be in the starting XI and he will partner with Lionel Messi, who scored his 650 th goal with Barcelona last Sunday against Athletic Club.
