Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady are the two quarterbacks going head to head in Sunday's Super Bowl, but how much do they earn and what’s their net worth?
Quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady are the two quarterbacks going head to head in Sunday's Super Bowl, the biggest football event of the NFL calendar.
Ever wondered what they both make each year and what’s their net worth?
Patrick Mahomes: salary and net worth
Patrick Lavon Mahomes II is quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs, who face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Super Bowl LV 2021 Sunday. He started out playing college football and college baseball at Texas Tech University before his meteoric rise.
Mahomes, 25, is currently in his third season as the Chiefs' full-time starting quarterback.
According to Sporting News, Mahomes’ contract with the Chiefs is set to lock him in until 2031, having signed in July 2020 a whopping 10 year extension. If the deal’s incentives are all met, he will net a sweet $503 million - the richest contract in American sports history and second internationally only to Lionel Messi's four-year, $674 million contract with FC Barcelona.
According to Spotrac, Mahomes is set to have made $10.825 million in 2020: $825,000 in base salary and a $10 million signing bonus.
He seems to be earning his beans though, with an outstanding record on the field to date, say USA Today.
Mahomes recorded the most completions and posted the highest quarterback rating of any player in NFL history through his first 25 career starts. So far in his 32 career regular-season starts, Mahomes has completed 66.1% of his passes for 9,623 yards with 79 touchdowns and 18 interceptions for a QB rating of 109.3.

Now 43 years old, he spent the first 20 seasons of his career with the New England Patriots, where he was a central contributor of the franchise's dynasty from 2001 to 2019.
Brady is considered by many sports writers, commentators, and players to be the greatest quarterback and player of all time.
Forbes pits Brady’s wealth at 64th among all celebrities, having cashed in a salary of $45 million in 2020; made up of $33 million for salary and winnings, and $12 million for endorsements.
And Celebrity Net Worth estimates Brady’s net worth around $200 million. This includes the approximately $20.3 million a year he’s thought to cash in from his lifestyle brand TB12.
Is he worth it? Well, no NFL player has ever appeared in or won more Super Bowls than quarterback Tom Brady, so you do the math!
