Liga MX announces a 72% decrease in covid-19 cases

The Liga MX is following all the health protocols established by the experts to control or decrease the positive coronavirus cases among their players and coaching staff in this 2021 Guardianes tournament. So far almost all teams have played six games and the good news is that there has been a decrease in the number of cases.

On Sunday the league released a statement revealing that coronavirus cases have decreased significantly (72%) compared to the 2020 Guardianes tournament amid the pandemic.

Between matchday 1 and 14 of the 2021 Guardianes tournament the clubs have done a total of 4,913 tests and have followed all the protocols established in the beginning of the year to fight the pandemic,” read the statement.

During the first two matchdays there were only 173 positive cases and during the next two that number lowered to 105 cases. The league also announced that it will continue supplying the teams with tests so they can monitor their players and coaches during the remainder of the tournament.
