Koeman, on Lenglet: "He takes criticism too personally"
Koeman looked ahead to tomorrow's rescheduled league meeting with Elche. Barça will be looking to respond after dropping points against Cádiz.
Ronald Koeman attended the media this afternoon to preview tomorrow's rescheduled LaLiga game against Elche. Barcelona will be aiming to get back on track after dropping points against Cádiz at the weekend.
Elche: "They are similar to Cádiz. They will be feeling confident after their win over Eibar and they are fighting to avoid relegation. It will be a difficult game. I don't know whether Elche will defend deep like Cádiz did the other day. It will depend on us".
Changes to the team: "We are always looking at how the team is physically and the confidence levels of every player. Mistakes have cost us games. It is not fair to single out one player or one defender. We had several chances to score and our efficiency in front of goal wasn't up to the level expected here at Barcelona. We also dropped points in that aspect".
Lenglet: "I spoke to him this morning. He's a very serious-minded player and an excellent professional. In my view, he tends to take criticism a little too personally. He could have done better in that move. But we committed more errors in other parts of the pitch. We made a lot of mistakes in attack... If we had been 2-0 up, a move in the final minute of the game wouldn't have been so decisive. It's good to know how to analyse moves, but it's not good to think that all the blame is yours alone".
Haaland and Mbappé: "Now isn't the moment to be talking about other players because we have important games to play. We have to focus on what we are doing because the games we have coming up could be decisive - that's the most important things for us at the moment".
The season is at stake: "Firstly, being a Barça players implies that you have to win. We are in a moment in which there is a lot at stake for us. We need to get that energy we had in other games back. We have dropped too many points at home. It's upsetting to drop two points at home but we have to keep going. We can't really afford many more slip-ups... because the moment will come when the chance to win something will be lost".
Araújo: "He's improving but he won't be ready tomorrow. First he will need to get a few sessions training with the squad to see if he is fit to return. We have to wait - the weekend or next Wenesday... It's not a good idea to put a date on it. It will all depend on how he improves".
How is the team in terms of spirit? "Team spirit has dropped a little, which is understandable. But we have a game every three days and that's good. If we win tomorrow, we will go second in the table and things will look completely different".
Griezmann and Dembélé need to contribute more: "We have to analyse the chances they've had. Griezmann was very effective last month. The other day, Dembélé had three or four goal-scoring chances. It's true that from midfield to attack, we are lacking efficiency in front of goal"
