The Ability Friendly programme is a joint initiative between the development-through-football platform Generation Amazing and the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development. It aims to provide football courses for people with disabilities in Qatar.

As part of the work Qatar 2022’s ambassadors are doing with Generation Amazing, Tim Cahill, an Australian football legend who is now an ambassador for the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, the body responsible for organising the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, participated in activities carried out under the programme.

Generation Amazing also aims to look after the needs of football fans with disabilities during the World Cup, whether through the services offered to them in the various Qatar 2022 stadiums, or by providing them with a space to watch the matches on television during the tournament.

The World Cup’s ambassadors play an important role in several regions all over the world, and the Generation Amazing programme aims to have a positive impact on the lives of many people around the world.

The main goals of Generation Amazing are to promote social integration and to ensure participants' sense of safety, belonging and acceptance.

The programme also supports efforts aimed at sustainable human development and is committed to equality regardless of gender, religion, ethnicity or age. It seeks to ensure enhanced learning opportunities for all, making the most of football-for-development initiatives to teach individuals the principles of gender equality, effective communication, teamwork and leadership.

Lots of work is being put in to achieve these goals, whether through events held in the Qatari capital of Doha or abroad, or through the youth forum that takes place annually and is attended by many former football stars from around the world.
