Víctor Vázquez and LA Galaxy reach a deal ahead of the 2021 MLS season

The Los Angeles Galaxy officially started their preseason earlier this month and they continue to build the team ahead of the start of the 2021 Major League Soccer campaign on 18 April. This Wednesday it was announced the club had signed veteran midfielder Víctor Vázquez reuniting him with manager Greg Vanney.

Vanney and Vázquez first worked together in 2017 at Toronto FC and that year they won the historic treble. The 34-year-old player spent two seasons in Major League Soccer and tallied 18 goals and 26 assists across regular and postseason games.

Víctor Vázquez: “Experienced player”

Victor is a talented, experienced and accomplished player who is familiar with Greg and playing in Major League Soccer,” said LA Galaxy General Manager Dennis te Kloese. “He was a top, creative player in our league while with Toronto and he will bring a great deal of leadership to our club both on and off the field. We are thrilled to add Victor to our roster and look forward to him representing the LA Galaxy.

Vázquez has had a distinguished career as a professional and has played for top clubs in Spain, Belgium, Mexico and MLS. The product of the FC Barcelona’s academy spent the last few years in Qatar and in 2020 he had a short spell at KAS Eupen.
