Xavi: Our goal is to finish the league season undefeated

Al Sadd coach Xavi Hernández spoke about the importance of his side's fixture against Al-Gharafa despite already wrapping up the league title.

Al Sadd's boss and legendary former Barcelona midfielder Xavi Hernandez is setting his sights on finishing this year's league campaign without losing a game after securing his first-ever league title as a coach and lifting the Qatari Cup.

Xavi spoke during a press conference ahead of Al Sadd's fixture on Saturday against Al Gharrafa and stressed that his side won't take their eye off the ball in their remaining fixtures of the campaign in a bid to finish the season unbeaten.

"Although we have already decided the league title, that won't stop us from looking to claim victories in the upcoming fixtures, especially when our target is to finish the current season undefeated" Xavi stated.

Xavi: Al Gharrafa is a difficult opponent

"Facing Al Gharrafa is always difficult, our rivals have good players and a very good coach. They also have the motivation to win against Al Sadd in a game that is like a derby".

"The game will be tough and earning the three points will be difficult but we are determined to win these points" he added.

The 41-year-old confirmed that he will rotate his players in a bid to reduce the possibility of injuries after a hectic schedule that has seen Al Sadd playing a game every three days.

Al Sadd also won the Qatari Cup for the second year in a row days before securing the league title with a 3-0 win over Umm Salal.
