International Table Tennis Federation awards Aspetar

The Federation organized a ceremony in honor of Aspetar, in which it thanked the hospital for its efforts that contributed to the successful organization of the recent International Table Tennis tournament.

On the occasion of the International Table Tennis Day, the International Table Tennis Federation awarded Aspetar Sports orthopedic and sports medicine hospital for its role during the Qatar International Table Tennis tournament, which was recently held in the city of Doha.

The International Table Tennis Federation organized a ceremony in honor of Aspetar, in which it thanked the hospital for its efforts that contributed to the successful organization of the tournament.

The ceremony was attended by high-ranking officials, among them: Khalil Al Mohannadi, president of the Arab and Qatari table tennis federations, Australian Steve Dayton, executive director of the International Table Tennis Federation, as well as various Aspetar officials, including Dr. Abdulaziz Jaham Al-Kuwari, Executive Director of Aspetar, Khaled Ali Al-Mawlawi, Executive Director of Administrative Affairs at Aspetar, and Riyadh Al-Milady, Executive Director of the National Sports Medicine Program.

For his part, Khaled Al Mohannadi said: "We must praise the cooperation we have with Aspetar, thanks to which table tennis was given new life after a suspension that lasted almost a year due to the circumstances of the pandemic. 700 players from 11 countries participated in the tournament, enhancing Qatar’s organizational successes. The tournament finished without registering a single case of infection, thanks to the cooperation with those responsible for public health, Aspetar, as well as all government channels.”

Meanwhile, Steve Dayton, executive director of the International Table Tennis Federation, expressed his gratitude to those responsible at Aspetar for helping to keep all tournament participants safe, and hailed Aspetar as a world-class hospital, thanks to the quality of the services provided.
