The Mavs are in the house

The Mavs will be hoping to avoid being inaugural participants in the first ever NBA Play-In-Tournament. The event will take after the regular season and will feature the 7th-10th seeds of each conference.

Four teams from each conference will battle in a March Madness style knock out tournament with the winners earning the 7th and 8th seed in their respective conferences.

The tournament will start of the 18th of May and finish on the 21st.

With the shortened season, the NBA took advantage of some shifts in the schedule. Most notable the tournament that precedes the NBA Playoffs.

The 7th and 8th seed will play each other for an automatic bid and the seventh seed in the playoffs. While the loser of that game will face the loser of the 9th-10th seed game. The winner of that will lock up the final spot in the post season.

Hello everyone and welcome live coverage of the Dallas Mavericks Brooklyn Nets showdown from America Airlines Center.

The Nets travel to Texas after back to back losses to the Milwaukee Bucks. Tonight’s game will be the third of a five game road series for the Brooklyn side.

Back to back losses for the Nets has them two games back in East

Despite Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant going for more than 30 points a piece, the Nets dropped their third straight on Tuesday night.  Milwaukee had 18-1 run in the fourth quarter to seal the win and Brooklyn fell farther behind the conference leading 76ers. They are 43- 23 this season, and they sit two games behind Philly.

Dallas has won four of their last five and fighting to stay out of the Play-In-Tournament. To do so, they will need to finish the regular season with the sixth seed or higher. Coming into tonight they sit at 37-28, which is just a half game above the Trail Blazers in the 7th spot in the West.

Harden out tonight, targets pre-playoff return

James Harden is close to making his comeback, but will sit out tonight as his hamstring still recovers from an early April injury. Kevin Durant leads the Nets in scoring dropping 28.3 a game, while Kyrie Irving is averaging 27 a night.

Dallas is led by their Slovenian sensation Luka Doncic who is averaging 28.5 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists for the year. But second leading scorer Kristaps Porzingis will miss tonights game with a minor knee injury.

These two team met in the beginning of the season, with Dallas trouncing the Nets 115-98. KD and Kyrie both missed that game, but are available tonight. Can the Nets stop their losing streak? Or will the Mavs continue to float about the Play-In-Tournament zone?
