Sergio Ramos did not train with the rest of his team-mates in the last session before Sunday's match against Sevilla. The Madrid captain has been ruled out of the crunch clash at Valdebebas. Ramos missed the sessions on Friday and Saturday, after Madrid got knocked out of the Champions League by Chelsea.

The 35-year-old rushed back to play in the second leg of the Champions League defeat to the Premier League side midweek, and played the 90 minutes although he was not yet at 100%. That has since taken its toll on him and he has opted out of this weekend's LaLiga clash with Julen Lopetegui's Sevilla. It is a decisive moment in the season for the veteran defender, as he has not yet renewed his contract with Madrid and has Euro 2020 with Spain next month.

Valverde and Vinicius available

Regarding the rest of the injured players, there is good news for Zinedine Zidane: Fede Valverde and Vinicius, who had not trained with the group on Friday, did return on Saturday morning and both are available to play against Sevilla.

The defence is once again the area where Zidane will have the most problems, like in recent weeks. What he will not be able to do on this occasion is resort to three centre-backs, since he only has two currently fit (Militao and Nacho). The two will play at the heart of the defence, with Mendy at left-back. Right-back is the where the French coach can opt for the natural choice in Odriozola or use Valverde, who has already fully recovered from the coronavirus.

Zidane turns to youth

In addition to the players in the first team, Zizou has called up two youth team players: Ferran and Rofino. Blanco will once again be in the first team squad. The French coach did not want to count on other Real Madrid Castilla regulars Miguel Gutiérrez and Pablo Ramón as the reserve team have an important match against Talavera.
