Florentino uses Ancelotti to scrub out Zidane's exit

Update:

One king dies, another one takes his place. Florentino Pérez has resolved the situation surrounding Zinedine Zidane’s departure with the arrival of Carlo Ancelotti, a man who was already being considered if Mauricio Pochettino did not work out. Everton allowed him to go without too much trouble. The Premier League club finished the season tenth, so it’s not that the Italian came on the back of great success, but his career is filled with many elite unveilings and he left Madrid fans with very good memories, especially for the 2014 Champions League. When Florentino sacked him after a trophyless season, the average fan was very disappointed. He was replaced by Rafa Benítez, whose own failure led to Zidane’s first spell in charge, promoted from Castilla.

Ancelotti in quick changeover for Zidane

Florentino and Ancelotti had some tense moments at the time, especially over Gareth Bale. Florentino always expected Bale to be Cristiano's successor and was thrilled about the idea of him winning the Ballon d'Or, but Ancelotti did not see him the same. I don’t believe that friction is going to be a problem now. Although Bale’s contract with Madrid still has a year to go, it is not easy, and even less so now, for him to try to run it down with us. In any case, the club has already thrown in the towel with him, having loaned him out to Tottenham this past season. With this quick changeover, Florentino has scrubbed out much of Zidane's departure.

Florentino must respect Ancelotti

Now we have to hope that the good Ancelotti, who is one of those I consider ideal as a Madrid coach (Molowny-Del Bosque-Ancelotti-Zidane), with a good disposition and a deft touch, arrives full of enthusiasm. Florentino has a certain authoritarian tendency - he tends to prefer those who, like Mourinho, don't get on with the players but are stern bosses - but it has been proven that the other ‘type’ is the one that works best for Los Blancos. Ancelotti’s time at Napoli ended not that long ago, where his son was seen to be meddling in the dressing room. He will now have to take care of that. And Florentino will have to respect him, lest we return prematurely to business as usual..
