Boxing, perhaps more than any other sport on the planet, is a sport full of not just fans or followers, but purists. On Sunday 6 June, Floyd Mayweather will fight social media star Logan Paul, and for many boxing diehards this crossover marks the beginning of the end of an institution they once lived for.

But what do other boxers think of the fight?

Mike Tyson

Mike Tyson was one of the first to speak out on the matter. Iron Mike kept it short and sweet like many of his fights back a few decades ago. Tyson, who is actually a buddy of the Paul brothers, telling TMZ reporters “I like those guys, man.”

Personal friendships aside, his forecast for the fight was bleak for Logan Paul, saying, “Floyd’s gonna beat his f****** a**. But it’s gonna be good. It’s gonna be good, he’s gonna fight back though!”

Canelo Alvarez

Saul “Canelo’ Alvarez, who fought against Floyd back in 2013, understands why “Money” Mayweather is coming out of retirement to fight saying “It’s just an exhibition. It’s about making money is all. It’s not really relevant at all, it’s just for making money. As you say, it’s stupid. I think the question [asking who wins] is offensive.”

As for the his predictions Canelo said, “Mayweather, obviously. I have nothing against anyone. I’m not a fan of saying bad things, but they give them boxing licences when they’re not a boxer. They could get them killed. This is not a soccer game, they could get them killed.”

Carl Forch

Former super middleweight champion Carl Forch is looking forward to the fight, ‘It’s got your interest, because Logan Paul is so big, Mayweather has been retired for so long, and you do think, ‘Oh what if Mayweather ruins his whole legacy by losing to a YouTuber?’ That’s the appeal said Forch.”

The retired boxer gave some advice to Floyd if he so happens to lost to Paul, “Mayweather could end up making a mockery of his whole career. If he gets caught and gets put down, it will be embarrassing. If he loses, he might as well get a one-way ticket to Australia.”

Ryan Garcia

Current lightweight boxer Ryan Garcia is the only one in the boxing world who seems to be going against “Pretty Boy” Floyd. “I think Logan is going to win. I just have a feeling in my heart. I’d put at least $10,000 on Logan.”
