E3 2021

Why isn't EA in the E3 2021? when will EA Play 2021 be celebrated?

Electronic Arts will skip E3 2021 as usual, instead hosting its own conference, but this year it will hold its own event a month after the convention.

Update:
Why isn't EA in the E3 2021? when will EA Play 2021 be celebrated?

Electronic Arts (EA) won't be attending E3 2021 from 12 June to 15 June. The Californian company has decided to step away from the convention yet again, but this year it won't have its own conference during the digital fair. Instead, it will celebrate its own digital press conference later in July. Additionally, on 9 June, a couple of days before E3 2021 kicks off, the company will be revealing Battlefield 6. A new iteration of the famous FPS franchise that this time will be set in the near future.

The absence of Electronic Arts doesn't imply their titles won't be showcased at E3 2021, since games, like the mentioned Battlefield 6, might appear in others companies' conferences such as the Microsoft one. However, the developer and publisher have decided to set their own agenda by hosting their own event at their preferred date. In this case, a month after E3 2021. A similar strategy to the one adopted by Sony (PlayStation): selecting their own way to engage with their community not having to depend on dates established by third parties.

When will EA Play 2021 be celebrated? What to expect there?

The California firm's alternative is to host its own digital press conference, the EA Play 2021 on 22 July. A date when the company will have the chance to reveal and show the new games and updates for the current titles they have been working on. A tactic that might serve to separate the hype from E3 2021 to focus it only on their own line-up of video games.

Regarding what titles could be shown there, EA keeps a long list of franchises that fans are looking forward to hearing more about. On the grounds of logic, FIFA 22, NHL 22, or Madden 22 sound like very possible candidates, as well as new content for The Sims or Apex Legends. Additionally, there is space to be speculative about whether there could be some announcement about Dragon Age 4, a new entry in the Mass Effect saga, or a sequel for Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order 2.
