Real Madrid's new Bernabéu renovation works continue ahead of LaLiga 21-22

Real Madrid's new Santiago Bernabéu Stadium continues to take shape, with the works on the iconic ground in the north of the Spanish capital continuing apace ahead of the start of the 2021-22 season.

Real Madrid have been playing at their second venue, the Alfredo Di Stéfano Stadium at their Valdebebas training ground, while the works have been carried out on their main ground. With no fans allowed in the stadium due to the coronavirus pandemic, Madrid changed their plans to carry out the renovation of the stadium with fans at the Bernabéu for many games, to playing at the Di Stéfano Stadium and allowing the works to be carried out at their main ground far faster.

The retractable roof of the new Bernabéu is now well advanced and in this latest video the changes to the corner towers can be seen. Madrid are spending 800 million euros on the project and expect the ground to be finished by late 2022, however fans could be allowed in in September, depending on the situation with covid-19.
