Who plays today in European Championship? Tuesday 22 June: games, times, TV, schedule...

It’s Tuesday 22 June. It's Day 12 of Euro 2020. Let's check out what action lies ahead as the third round of the groups is underway...

Croatia vs Scotland | 3pm ET

Preview

Croatia and Scotland will battle it out in Glasgow for a ticket to the knockout stages after the Chequered Ones were held to a 1-1 draw by the Czech Republic in their last match and Scotland took a point after a goalless stalemate against England.

Croatia can’t qualify as group winners and their defeat to England at Wembley means that they are out of sight, so they will hope for the Three Lions to win against the Czech Republic while they try to beat Scotland, as it’s the only permutation that would see them progress to the next round.

However, Zlatko Dalic’s men have only won two from the last 11 meetings, in contrast to their inspiring summer at Russia 2018.

Meanwhile, Scotland, who haven’t still scored a goal at the European Championship, find themselves at the bottom of the group and would need a set of circumstances to keep their last-16 hopes alive, although a third-placed finish could lead them to the knockout stages.

Croatia haven’t won any of their previous five meetings with Scotland, and their two most recent matches saw Scotland claim 2-0 and 1-0 wins.

AS English prediction: Croatia 1-1 Scotland

Venue: Hampden Park, Glasgow, Scotland

Kick-off time: 3pm ET, 12 noon PT, 9pm CEST

Czech Republic vs England | 3pm ET

Preview

Czech Republic and England will try to top Group D in a match that will take place at Wembley, as both teams are tied with four points.

Their draw against Croatia in their last game and their victory in game one against Scotland means that Jaroslav Silhavy’s side will make it out of the group as winners as long as they avoid defeat to England. If that’s the case, they would face the runners-up from the group of death.

The Czech national team can’t finish lower than third, so the option of advancing as one of the best third-placed teams is a real possibility.

However, England also have destiny in their hands after beating Croatia in the opening match. Gareth Southgate’s men would only need a draw to be among the 16 best teams, while they would finish in top position with a win over the Czech squad.

In this case, though, Czech Republic and England may also be keeping an eye on Group E, as a runners-up place could see any of both teams rewarded with a friendlier tie in the next round versus the runners-up of Group E, where all teams can still qualify and the Spanish squad, the favorite, could well finish in first or second position.

AS English prediction: Czech Republic 1-2 England
