Lille start Ligue 1 title defence at Metz, PSG travel to newly-promoted Troyes

Lille will begin their defence of their Ligue 1 title away from home as guests of Metz while Paris Saint-Germain are also on the road, meeting newly-promoted Troyes on the opening day of the 2021-22 season.

Les Dogues sensationally dethroned PSG last month, but head coach Christophe Galtier stepped down after they were crowned champions. Lille are yet to appoint a successor to Galtier and whoever the new boss is will take the champions to Metz on the weekend of 8 August.

Lille and PSG to meet in October and February

They will face Rennes on the final day of the campaign and come up against PSG for the first time at the Parc des Princes on 31 October before facing Mauricio Pochettino's side at home on February 6.

PSG are also on the road in their first match and finish the season at home to Metz on 21 May. Monaco, who finished third last season, will be at home to Nantes in their opening match and Olympique Lyon entertain Brest, with Olympique Marseille away at Montpellier.

PSG will have home advantage when they face Monaco for the first time next season in a match scheduled for 12 December, then travel to the Principality on 20 March. Clermont face an away encounter with Bordeaux first after going up along with Ligue 2 champions Troyes.
