Will there be fans at the Gold Cup? What are the Covid-19 restrictions?

The 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup will take place at 11 different stadiums throughout the United States, including the preliminaries which take place from 2-6 July.

As both Euro 2020 and the Copa America enter their final stages, global football fans have the 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup to look forward too with games set to take place at 11 different stadiums throughout the United States, including the preliminaries which take place from 2-6 July.

The competition officially gets underway on 10 July and will run through to 1 August with the final set to staged in Las Vegas and with both the USA and Mexico as the sides to beat.

There will be 16 sides from the Concacaf confederation that will battle it out in four groups of four teams with the top two from each group progressing to the next stage.

Gold Cup fans return?

As is the case with all sporting event around the world, the covid-19 pandemic has created havoc with fans still unable to attend events in many parts of the world with the Conmebol Copa America being a case in point. With the vaccine roll-out in the US in an advanced stage, supporters will be fortunate to cheer on their teams at all eleven venues with some restrictions in place and hygiene protocols are set to differ from state to state with social distance and masks to be used in some enclosed spaces.

Vegas final

The semi-finals will take place at both the Q2 Stadium in Austin and the NRG Stadium in Houston and the 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup final will take place at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas with all 60,000 match tickets selling out in just over an hour.
