​​Lollapalooza 2021: covid rules and restrictions

Music festivals lover rejoice -- after a one-year hiatus, Lollapolooza is back. To keep event-goers safe new covid-19 rules and restrictions are in place.

Those attending Lollapalooza this year should be aware of the new covid rules and restrictions. The event, set to run from 29 July to 1 August,  will feature performances from Miley Cyrus, Tyler, the Creator, Post Malone, and many others

What are the rules and restrictions?

To gain access to the venue, attendees will have to provide proof of “full COVID-19 vaccination or negative COVID-19 test results.”

For those who have yet to be vaccinated, the covid-19 test must be taken within 72 hours of the event.

Also, ticket holders must agree to the Lollapalooza Fan Health Pledge, an agreement designed to keep those exposed or infected with covid-19 away from the event.

The Pledge states that those who have tested positive or been exposed to someone who has tested positive should not attend. The same goes for those who have experienced symptoms of COVID-19 within 48 hours before the event. Lastly, those who have “traveled to any international territory identified by federal or applicable state or local governments as being subject to travel or quarantine advisories due to COVID-19” are advised not to attend.

At the event

Those who have received their covid-19 vaccines are not required to wear masks, whereas unvaccinated people are. Unvaccinated attendees are also encouraged to maintain social distance wherever possible.

All in attendance will activate a festival wristband that will allow them to make cashless purchases from all event vendors.

Event organizers also encourage frequent handwashing and to “Avoid physical contact with people outside of your party.”

Tested positive? You are eligible for a refund.

If a ticketholder test positive and “cannot attend the festival, can receive a refund.
