USWNT: How many Olympic medals does Carli Lloyd have?

Soccer player Lloyd will be looking to increase her Olympic medal collection and return home gold after 2016 US’s first Olympics not being awarded.

The American soccer player, who has recently overpassed the 300 games with team USA and has been named the world’s better payed women soccer player March, looks forward to bring gold home after 2016 US’s first Olympics not being awarded.

Prior to Tokyo 2020 the 36-year-old has also been crowned as the first woman to score three goals in a FIFA World cup final after a straight 5-2 win against Japan in 2015.

Lloyd also helped US to win 2015 and 2019 Women's FIFA's World Championships and played for n World Cup 2011, where US ended up as runner-ups.

Having been two-time Olympic champion in 2008 and 2012, Lloyd heads to her fourth debut at the Olympic Games.

In both 2008 and 2012 she was the woman responsible for the gold, as she scored both goals that gave USWNT the gold medal in the finals.

Last edition taken place at Rio de Janeiro, Lloyd couldn’t come as fortunate and for the first time ever USWNT wasn’t awarded at the Olympics after a loss to Sweden on the penalty kicks a step away from reaching semi-finals.

US’s way to gold

However, the actual World Champions USWNT, is still the unquestioned medal leader since women soccer was implemented in the Olympics program in Atlanta 1996, where they first won their first four golds and a silver.

Therefore, as it was expected US’s team come favorite to win the gold this year and Carli Lloyd has shown she is also ready for the win after saying in an interview for The Inquirer that she is in the best moment of her career as a soccer player.

Moreover, she admits to never have been so happy of representing her home country as this year in Tokyo 2020, Games that could also be her last Olympics as a US flag defendant.
