Having been by far the biggest movers on this summer’s transfer market, all eyes will be on PSG on Saturday in Paris, where the French giants face Strasbourg in matchday 2 of Ligue 1.

PSG have already signed Gianluigi Donnarumma, Georginio Wijnaldum, Achraf Hakimi, and former Clásico rivals Sergio Ramos and Lionel Messi, during the summer transfer window. However fans hoping to see the latter pair in action will be disappointed as they will not be in the squad to face Strasbourg.

Ramos is still recovering from a calf issue that will keep him out of action until after the mid-September, while Messi has been given time by coach Maurcio Pochettino to regain his fitness after a break following Argentina’s title-winning Copa America campaign.

"Today was [Messi’s] second training session since the Copa America final," Pochettino said at a pre-match news conference on Friday. "The priority for him is to feel better and better. Only then will we see if he is ready to play matches.”

Messi’s fellow superstar and former Barcelona teammate Neymar is also unavailable due to lack of fitness, meaning Kylian Mbappé is likely to start up front with Mauro Icardi and Julian Draxler, while new arrivals Achraf and Wijnaldum are also in line to start.
