Baltimore Ravens star Lamar Jackson is not dwelling on the past, playing down his winless record against Kansas City Chiefs counterpart Patrick Mahomes ahead of Sunday's NFL showdown.

The Ravens will welcome Mahomes' Chiefs to M&T Bank Stadium in Week 2, with Jackson looking to snap a 0-3 record against his fellow quarterback.

Mahomes has won all three head-to-head matchups with Jackson, averaging 378.7 pass yards per game compared to 170.3 by the Ravens signal-caller, per Stats Perform.

Jackson, though, downplayed his winless run, telling reporters on Wednesday: "It's not about me and Mahomes.

"Not to me, probably to everyone else. But it's the Ravens versus the Kansas City Chiefs."

"They did beat us three times or whatever, but that's in the past," Jackson added midweek.

"I'm not dwelling on those losses. We're coming in Sunday night and we're going to play."

The Ravens were defeated in overtime at the Las Vegas Raiders 33-27 for their first Week 1 loss since 2015.

Baltimore had won 98 consecutive games when leading by 14-plus points dating back to December 2004 before blowing a 14-0 lead in that game.

Jackson led the Ravens in rushing yards last week for the 21st game of his career (including postseason). No other quarterback has led his team in rushing in more than 12 games since the 2019 MVP entered the league in 2018.

He was 19 of 30 passing for 235 yards and one touchdown, while he also rushed for 86 yards on 12 carries against the Raiders.

"I'm very confident in my guys," Jackson said. "Everyone makes mistakes. I had two fumbles. Stuff like that happens. Every game's not going to be perfect.

"It's Week 1, we lost, we didn't get blown out, it happened. Those guys will be good, for sure."
