Ryder Cup 2021 begins September 21

The 43rd Ryder Cup golf competition starts this week between Europe and the USA's top golfers after a year-long delay due to the Covid 19 pandemic.

Update:
Ryder Cup 2021 begins September 21

The Ryder Cup happens every two years and features 24 of Europe and the USA’s best golfers. The U.S. team is made up of the top six players in the points rankings with six captain’s picks. The European team is comprised of the first four players in the European Points List, and then five from the World Points List, and then finally three wild cards. After a year-long delay due to Covid19, the competition is finally set to begin this Tuesday, September 21 until until this Sunday, September 26.

The first two days include a four-match session of fourball and one four-match session of foursomes. The final day will be for 12 single matches. Each match is worth one point and if it ends in a tie, it is worth a half point for each side. The team who reaches 14 points first wins the Ryder Cup. If they happen to end in a 14-14 tie, the Ryder Cup goes to its current holder.
