Sebastián Cáceres will not play in the ‘Super Clásico Nacional’ at the Azteca stadium because of the red card he saw last game and Alexis Vega is doubtful.

The players that will miss the Chivas-América ‘Clásico’

Chivas will go on the road to face Club América tonight at the Azteca stadium for the first ‘Super Clásico Nacional’ of the 2021 Apertura tournament in the Liga MX. The visiting side will play this game after the bosses decided to part ways with manager Victor Manuel Vucetich and with their best player, Alexis Vega, recovering from an ankle injury.

Chivas No. 7 has missed the last two games due to the injury and it is very unlikely he will be able to play tonight against América. Vega suffered the ankle injury on 29 August in Chivas 2-1 victory against Necaxas and he missed the scoreless draw against Pumas and the 1-0 win against Pachuca CF last weekend.

Only one player ruled out for the home side

On the other hand, Club América has a full squad to face Chivas tonight. The only player that will miss the clash is midfielder Sesbastián Cáceres because he was given a red card in the team’s 3-1 loss against Toluca last weekend.

This was the first defeat of the tournament for the team managed by Santiago Solari and they want to bounce back in Mexico’s biggest soccer rivalry. With a win tonight, the ‘Eagles’ will remain at the top of the table because of the better goal difference compared to second place Toluca.
