Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray favorite to win this year's MVP award

The Cardinals are the only team that is 4-0 going into game 5 this week, all thanks to an excellent Kyler Murray.

Update:
The Cardinals are the only team that is 4-0 going into game 5 this week, all thanks to an excellent Kyler Murray.

Kyler Murray is at the moment the best-position player to win the MVP. When sporting books first started taking position odds on this year's NFL MVP back in spring, the clear favorite was Patrick Mahomes. Unfortunately for the Chiefs and Mahomes, his team now sits at a 2-2 record, while the Arizona Cardinals are 4-0. This great start of a season has given Murray a better position odd than Mahomes at the Caesars Sportsbook

The Cardinals QB began the season with a 25-1 odd to win the MVP, but the Texas native has been great and moved to a 10-1 position by week 1. Murray has completed 76.1% of passes while scoring 12 touchdowns. For Mahomes, he has thrown 15 touchdowns, and they both have had four interceptions.

May the odds be in your favor

Murray started the season with a +2500 by BeTMGM. He is now the favorite at Sportsbook with a +500. Josh Allen follows the Cardinals' QB very closely at +650; his team, the Bills, sit a comfortable 3-1 record.

In addition, Kyler has even better odds at DraftKings, with a +450 short, just ahead of Patrick Mahomes with a +650, and followed closely by Allen with +700. At PointsBet, Murray is +475, Mahomes +550, and Tom Brady +800.

While familiar names are taking up the top spots, it is worth mentioning the surge in numbers by other QBs like Rams Matthew Stafford, who started with a +2,000 and now has a +1,100 odd, and Dak Prescott of the Cowboys, who has gone from +1,200 to +1,100.

Can Murray win the MVP?

Murray's chances lie with his ability to run the ball and score touchdowns. If he can continue to do this, he will be able to put up a fight for the MVP title this year. He has had great help from his OL, who has been superb. The question is if the Cardinals can keep this dynamic.
