Tyson Fury vs. Deontay Wilder 3: Once and For All

Tyson Fury has convincingly defended his WBC heavyweight title by knocking out Deontay Wilder in the 11th round of the conclusion of their trilogy match in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Wilder sent Fury to the canvas twice in the fourth round, but the 33-year-old Briton clearly dominated the match. The 35-year-old American was visibly exhausted in the later rounds, and was simply no match for Fury's calculated motion, as well as his jabs and deadly rights.

The third battle between Tyson “The Gypsy King” Fury and Deontay “The Bronze Bomber” Wilder was originally set to take place in July, but was postponed to October after Fury came down with covid-19.

Their first fight, which ended in a draw, was held in Dec. 2018. They locked horns once again in Feb. 2020, where Fury captured victory with a seventh round technical knockout to clinch the WBC and Ring Magazine heavyweight belts. That match was Wilder’s first defeat ever, and it was the last time either fighter saw action in the ring before tonight.

The trilogy is over and Tyson Fury is the lord of the ring!

The Gypsy King remains undefeated after emerging the winner in a fight for the ages.

Wilder held on as long as he could, but Fury dominated from the start of the round, battering the Bronze Bomber with that dangerous right, connecting with the ear and with the chin.

Fury pushes Wilder to the ropes, the American struggling to stay in the game. A big right hand from the Gypsy King sends Wilder to the floor! Wilder again has a surprise comeback towards the end of the round and pummels Fury.

Wilder is going for the knockout but misses. There is no power left in his punches. But he manages to land a solid uppercut towards the end of the round which has Fury holding on to him.

Wilder is slowing down, and embraces in his exhaustion. The American holds his right hand, which looks like it could be hurt.

We're at the second half of the match, and Fury steps up his attack. He does it in a calculated manner, and connects with a powerful right, again to the ear. The referee pries the fighters apart. Wilder throws his punches wildly, hoping to connect.

Wilder's right eye has begun to swell, and his mouth has started to drip blood.
Fury throws out a powerful combination, and wears down his opponent. Wilder goes down on his knees but stands up, apparently getting tired.

Both fighters are throwing punches with a lot of power and with knockout intentions.
The crowd starts to chant "Wilder! Wilder!"
Fury and Wilder have both made adjustments to their game, Fury connects with power jabs.

Wilder tries to stay in the game, but it looks like he hasn't recovered from Round 3.
BUT!!! The tables are suddenly turned and Wilder sends Fury to the canvas twice!!
The crowd goes wild!

The action picks up in the third round, with the two fighters truly slugging it out. Deontay Wilder goes down after receiving a right to his ear! He holds on until the end of the round, but is clearly in trouble.

In the second round, Wilder seems affected when Fury connects with deadly right overhands, embracing the Briton to stop the exchange.

Round one is on!

Wilder starts the first round very aggressively, going for hits to Fury's body. Fury bides his time, looking relaxed, and waits to throw his punches.
Fury lands a solid right in the last few seconds of the round.

The boxers are introduced to loud cheering. The crowd can't wait for the action to get going!

It's Fury's turn, and he comes in as a Roman soldier.

Wilder finally does his ring walk.

He swaggers in and goes straight into the ring with a sequined red and silver mask and robe, with matching bling around his neck. The costume is a tribute to his Nigerian forebears.

Wilder is taking his sweet time and takes a while to enter the arena.

Being the challenger, he is supposed to go first.
Fury is shadow boxing as he waits.

It's time for the singing of the national anthem.

First up, the British theme, "God Save the Queen" performed with some boos from the crowd.

And of course, "Star-Spangled Banner" with a lot of hometown cheering.

Sanchez dominated and wins by unanimous decision, 97-92, 98-91, 98-91.

Ajagba did not take advantage of his significant height and reach advantage over Sanchez, unable to land remarkable punches. Sanchez used his speed to score some sharp hits.

It's round seven for Ajagba and Sanchez.

Ajagba has been stalking Sanchez for most of the fight, but is unable to come up with more than two-punch combinations due to the Cuban's speed. Sanchez knocks down the Nigerian with a big right, but gets a warning for hitting Ajagba while he was down.

Both stars of the evening are now at T-Mobile Arena.

Fans are filling up the venue, anticipating exciting action from Fury and Wilder.

It's time for the third match and co-main event of the night!

Undefeated fighters Efe Ajagba of Nigeria (15-0) and Cuba’s Frank Sanchez (18-0) face off for ten rounds in yet another heavyweight bout.

And it's another short bout!

The referee stops the match at 2:38 in the sixth round and "The Nordic Nightmare" wins by technical knockout! The Polish boxer could not get his punches in, and even gave several blows below the belt, but Helenius simply battered him in a lopsided fight.

It looks like Helenius is racking up the points in the early rounds.

The Finnish boxer is keeping up the pressure, and it's not looking good for Kownacki.

Next up is an intense 12-round rematch!

Poland’s Adam Kownacki (20-1) goes up against Finland’s Robert Helenius (30-3) once again, after their March 2020 fight which “The Nordic Nightmare” won by TKO.

And the first heavyweight fight is over in the second round!

The young American defeats the 31-year-old Russian and keeps his fight record unblemished.

Heavyweights Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder tipped the scales at their biggest weights yet on the eve of their highly-anticipated third fight in Las Vegas on Saturday with the WBC belt on the line.

Fury weighed in at 277 pounds, five pounds heavier than in their second fight.

Asked what the extra weight on his 6' 9" frame meant, the undefeated "Gypsy King" from Wythenshawe, England said, "It means total obliteration, total annihilation! That's what 277 pounds means to me."

The underdog Wilder weighed in at a surprising 238 pounds, seven pounds more than in their last meeting.

The 39 pound weight difference marks the smallest differential between the two so far, but Fury said he welcomed the bulked up Wilder. "It will make him slower. He can't carry his weight like I can. He's not a natural big heavyweight, he's a natural small man," Fury said of the lean, 6' 7" Wilder.
