The Festival dello Sport was concluded in Trento on Sunday. One of the guests on the final day was LaLiga president Javier Tebas, who spoke about the agreement with CVC among other topics: "There are still just a few flecks to be ironed out; we lost a great deal of money during the the coronavirus pandemic. Three clubs have voted against it, one of them is Real Madrid".

Super League: "The stronger domestic league are, the less opportunities there will be for projects like the Super League. Revenue needs to be divided between clubs better and there needs to be more investment in distribution".

El Clásico: "Every game is important, but El Clásico is the most important. We need to develop a branding image for these kinds of games which are watched all over the world. I think it will be difficult for a Barcelona-Madrid to be played outside of Spain, it's not the kind of game for that. We need fans from both clubs at the stadium. It might be ok for other games, but El Clásico cannot be moved from the stadiums it is traditionally played in".

Europe's leagues: "Our obsession isn't that a club other than Real Madrid or Barcelona wins the league, it's that the champions win the league with 85 points, not 100. In the Premier League, they have been cases of team coming close to 100 points, but when that happens, it means that the tournament has not been competitive".

Fixtures calendar: "90% of professional footballers don't take part in thee World Cup, so only 150 players in the world suffer an overload of games. Ibrahimovic, for example, didn't take part in every World Cup and that helped him. We'll see what Europe's leagues will do with the players who don't go to Qatar. Will they be on hold with nothing to do for two months? We need to be able to defend our own interests, the clubs are the ones who have to pay their staff. We generate thousands of jobs".

Premier League: "They have a host of businesses way superior to LaLiga and we need to work to reach a similar level. In three years we will be able to recover 500 million euros, but football is not only about money. The English have always been first in the sheer volume of business it attracts but they went 6 or7 years without an English club winning the Champions League".

State-backed clubs: "I have spoken a lot about that, they are very dangerous for football. PSG's salaries exceed their income and no one really believes that their commercial revenue is greater than Manchester United's".
