New Paris Saint-Germain signing Leo Messi is preparing to discover the French 'clasico' as the Parisian outfit face Olympique Marseille, the team led by his compatriot Jorge Sampaoli on Sunday. The game kicks off at the Stade Veledrome in Marseille and it will be the first time the striker pulls on a different shirt having starred in dozens of 'clasicos' in Spain with FC Barcelona.

Runaway league leaders face a Marseille side that lie in third place in the Ligue 1 standings with the men from the Riviera having played one game less than the side from the capital.

A passionate and hostile atmosphere will await Messi on Sunday in a fixture that became a flashpoint game in recent times and this has led to ban on away supporters from attending 'Le Classique' due to security concerns. PSG come into the contest as clear favourites with OM having only managed one win in the past ten years in meetings between both teams.

Messi has yet to find the target in Ligue 1 and what better fixture for the Argentine to open his account after the Rosario born striker was on target for OSG twice in the midweek Champions League win over RB Leipzig (3-2).
