One of the biggest games in the Premier League calendar takes place at Old Trafford on Sunday as two of the most celebrated names in English football go head-to-head when Manchester United take on Liverpool. Liverpool come into the game in buoyant mood with the 'Reds' unbeaten this season and in Mo Salah, Klopp's side have one of the most in-form players in world football at present with the Egyptian key in his side's opener against Atletico in Madrid.

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said he would always back Cristiano Ronaldo to score goals but conceded on Friday that Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah is in the form of his life ahead of Sunday's Premier League derby at Old Trafford.

United with injury concerns

Bruno Fernandes could be missing through injury when Manchester United face Liverpool at Old Trafford, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed.

The United playmaker suffered a knock in the dramatic 3-2 win against Atalanta on Wednesday, and along with Fred he is among a small group whose fitness is under observation.

Solskjaer said ahead of Sunday's Premier League headline fixture: "Games like Wednesday's are always going to bring knocks and bruises.

Pressure on Ole

Solskjaer will send his players into battle against a Liverpool side who enter the weekend in second place, one point behind Chelsea. United sit sixth, four points further back, and to concede more ground even at this early stage of the season would be a troubling outcome for the Red Devils manager.

Should in-form Liverpool win, a seven-point gap would be a lot for United to claw back.

Solskjaer said: "It's a massive rivalry. Every time being a Manchester United player and getting the responsibility and honour to step out at Old Trafford against Liverpool, you give everything you have, and we know these games don't need any bigging up, it's a massive game.

"Of course, to be seven points behind, it's going to be a big distance. [If United win and the gap is] one point between, it's close."

In-form Reds

Mo Salah leads the Premier League goal scoring charts with seven goals and also has four assists in eight games while he also has five strikes in the Champions League.

Liverpool manager Juergen Klopp did not want to compare the two forwards earlier on Friday but Solskjaer praised Salah and also his team mates on the frontline -- Sadio Mané, Roberto Firmino and Diogo Jota.

Liverpool are the only unbeaten team in the league this season and have scored at least three goals in each of their last eight away games in all competitions.

Klopp pays tribute to United

"Manchester United are an exceptional team and their midweek comeback win over Atalanta in the Champions League showed they have the quality to cause any team problems", Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp said on Friday.

"I prepare the team for a tough game against an exceptional, really good opponent... We are long enough together to know we're up against a really good team and it's an away game as well for us."

United are winless in their last three league games, losing twice to drop down to sixth. Klopp said they would be hurting ahead of one of the marquee fixtures of the season.

"We all know how the world in football is. United-Liverpool is a massive game," Klopp added.
