Chicago Bears head coach Matt Nagy has tested positive for covid-19 and confirmed his status on Monday and clarified that he is vaccinated against the virus.

"Unfortunately this morning the result came back that I have tested positive for covid," Nagy said during a press video conference.

"For us, this is a reminder that we all have to remain vigilant and understand where we are with the virus," he said.

The Bears' next game will be Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers.

In the mean time, team coordinator Chris Tabor will take over as head coach while Nagy is in quarantine.

According to NFL protocols, the coach must test negative on two covid-19 tests and show no symptoms of the virus to be authorized to return to duty.

The Chicago Bears are in third position of the North division of the National Conference with three victories and four losses so far this season.
