Who's left for Rodgers after Adams, Lazard out due to COVID
The Green Bay Packers will have to travel to Arizona to take on the undefeated Cardinals with potentially three of their top receivers sidelined.
The Green Bay Packers receiving core has been rocked just days before their biggest game of the season. Both Devante Adams and Allen Lazard have been put on the reserve/COVID-19 list leading up to the Pack’s game against the undefeated Arizona Cardinal’s.
The hits keep coming for the Pack
Aaron Rodgers will be with out both Adams and Lazard, and it seems as though Marquez Valdes-Scantling could still be on injured reserve as he nurses a hamstring injury back to 100%. The would mean that Rodgers will be without his top three receivers for the Thursday Night showdown between the only team with a perfect record going into Week 8.
"There's a little bit of a shock factor for sure," Aaron Rodgers said about learning of Adams' test. "But we dealt with it last year. We're maybe slightly more healthy than some of the other teams as far as not having as many cases. But there have been cases here and we've dealt with them."
Cobb could be top target for Rodgers this week
So who will Rodgers turn to with out his top three pass catchers? The Packers brought back Randall Cobb this season, after a a few seasons away from the Frozen Tundra. The 31 year old has not had the dream return that he or Packers fan might gave been hoping for. Through six games, Cobb has 179 yards on 14 receptions with two touchdowns.

Cobb will surely be a top target if Rodgers is indeed with out his trio of top receivers. Another option will be Malik Taylor who has been taken of the COVID list after nearly two weeks. Taylor has just two catches this year, for 14 yards.
Aaron Jones is a fantastic pass catching threat out of the backfield with 26 receptions on the season, but he will be heavily surveyed by the Cardinals linebacking core who know that Rodgers won’t have too many other weapons to use.
St. Brown and the other Rodgers: time to shine
Equanimeous St. Brown and Amari Rodgers are also options for Matt LeFleur, but Rodgers has just two catches on the year for 33 yards, and St. Brown has a catch for no gain on the season.
Adams has an outside chance of playing on Thursday, but he would have to prove that he’s asymptomatic and give two negative tests 24 hours apart before kickoff on Thursday night.
Thursday’s contest against the Cardinals was always going to be a difficult one, but now the Packers will have to mount a miracle to hand Arizona their first loss of the season. The good news is they have the reigning NFL MVP under center who has made miracles happen once or twice in his career.
