Pulisic could feature in Champions League

The United States international was included in the squad that made the trip to Sweden for Tuesday’s match against Malmo. This is good news for the 23-year-old, who has suffered a lot of setbacks during his road to recovery. Chelsea’s manager, Thomas Tuchel, said Pulisic has been suffering during his time on the sidelines.

Chelsea players out for Malmo trip

The bad news for Tuchel is that Mason Mount, Romelu Lukaku, Mateo Kovacic and Timo Werner didn’t make the trip because they have not recovered from their respective injuries. Tuchel made it clear that Mount is ill, but he doesn’t have coronavirus.

"These four players are unfortunately still out but also for Timo, Romelu and Kova it is no surprise," he said. "For Mason, he doesn't feel any better but to stop any speculation it is not covid-19. He is just ill and does not feel good enough to take part in training or take part in the trip to Malmo. The good news is Christian Pulisic is back in the squad for tomorrow."
