LAFC needs six points to hope for MLS playoff place

Los Angeles FC are in an unusual situation this year and even two victories may not be enough to qualify for the playoffs for the first time ever.

Estados UnidosUpdate:
LAFC needs six points to hope for MLS playoff place

Los Angeles Football Club will play their last home game of the 2021 MLS regular season at the Banc of California stadium on Tuesday night. LAFC will host the Vancouver Whitecaps and they know that they could not qualify for the playoffs for the first time in franchise history, since debuting in the league in 2018.

I really feel like the group has an excellent mentality right now. You really feel that there is confidence, guys supporting and pushing each other and these are all the things you need and hope for at the end of each season. We know that we are at home and we must win against Vancouver,” said LAFC manager Bob Bradely.

Injury update

Bradley will not be able to include Eduard Atuesta for the second match in a row due to an injury. The Colombian midfielder has not practiced with the team and he is doubtful to play against Colorado on 7 November. Also although Carlos Vela will be available for Tuesday's game he is only expected to play around 15 minutes, coming on as a late substitute.

The Black & Gold are currently in ninth place in the Western Conference with 44 points, two behind seventh place, and they must win their next two matches to have any hope. If they lose or tie, LAFC will be mathematically eliminated from playoff contention.
