Los Angeles Football Club are hanging by a thread in their aspirations of booking their ticket to the 2021 MLS Cup playoffs. On Tuesday night they needed the three points, but finished with a dramatic 1-1 draw against the Vancouver Whitecaps in their last home game of the campaign at Banc of California Stadium.

The team managed by Bob Bradley had a dominant performance throughout the 90 minutes, but couldn't find a winner despite having a total of 11 shots on target. The main reason LAFC didn’t come out on top is the fantastic night goalkeeper Maxime Crépeau had, with 10 saves. Los Angeles FC are in ninth place with 45 points, two behind seventh place the LA Galaxy, and Vancouver are sixth with 48 in the Western Conference.

LAFC has one more opportunity

I really liked the way we pushed the game, we just didn't find a way to get another goal. Now we need a little bit of luck. We need some results to go our way, but we need to take the energy and the effort we had tonight and be ready to go after it in Colorado,” said Bradley after the game.

The team from Los Angeles has a slim chance of entering the playoff picture in their last game of the 2021 MLS regular season. Los Angeles FC will go on the road to face Colorado Rapids on Sunday on ‘Decision Day’ and they need to win and sit patiently and wait for the other results to go their way.
