The Bucks answer the call from the President

The 2021 NBA Champion Milwaukee Bucks will attend a ceremony at the White House honoring their achievement at 2:50 p.m. ET on Monday, November 8th. The event will be broadcast live on NBA TV and Bucks.com.

They will be the first NBA champion team to visit the White House since 2016 when the Cleveland Cavaliers visited. The Golden State Warriors declined their invitation in 2017 and 2018 over disagreements with former President Trump, who tweeted that they were never actually invited in the first place and that the second non-existent invitation had been withdrawn. In 2019, the Toronto Raptors declined to visit along similar grounds and the Covid pandemic derailed the Los Angeles Lakers plans in 2020.

Bucks President Peter Feigin said, “We are excited and honored for the privilege of being invited to The White House. Winning the NBA Championship was an incredible experience for our organization, the city, the state and Bucks fans throughout the world. We are grateful for the opportunity to meet President Biden and to be recognized for our achievement.”
