LA Galaxy’s GM Dennis te Kloese to accept Feyenoord proposal

Dennis te Kloese just finished his third year as the general manager of the Los Angeles Galaxy and following a disappointing campaign having being eliminated from the playoffs on Decision Day. The team with the most titles in the league (5) failed to book their ticket in back-to-back seasons and some changes are going to be made ahead of the next campaign.

Change in GM

One of them is the departure of Dennis te Kloese who is expected to decline the option to return for his fourth year in his contract and start his career in Europe. According to ESPN, the experienced GM has traveled to the Netherlands to finalize the deal to become the sporting director of Feyenoord Rotterdam.

Te Kloese arrived at the LA Galaxy in 2019 and in that year striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic helped the team return to the playoffs. The Swedish striker decided to return to Europe and sign with AC Milan after the end of that season and Galaxy’s GM brought Javier Hernández as a replacement.

The 2020 MLS season didn’t go as expected and before it ended they parted ways with manager Guillermo Barros Schelotto. This year they appointed Greg Vanney as the head coach and he assumed more ownership of technical matters. But in the last game of the regular season they tied against Vancouver and were taken out of the playoff picture.
