The Game Awards is returning in 2021 to award the best video games, developers, publishers and artists of the year and showcase new world premieres, trailers and the announcements of upcoming titles (and even movies like Sonic 2 or Matrix 4). Tonight, December 9th, the event created and hosted by Geoff Keighley will return to the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles as a physical ceremony and will be broadcasted via live streaming.

What time do The 2021 Game Awards begin?

The Game Awards 2021 will begin on Thursday, December 9 with a 30 min pre-show at the following times (depending on your region):

- Pacific Time: 4:30pm
- Eastern Time: 7:30pm
- CET/GMT: 12:30 am

The main event will start 30 min after the pre-show.

How to watch The Game Awards 2021 live through online streaming?

The Game Awards has stated that the event will be streamed live and free on the official accounts of the organization on several platforms. The company has also announced that some of these platforms will allow co-streaming from other creators. Check the official links to watch the event below.

What to expect from The Game Awards 2021?

Beyond the 35 awards that will be given to games, developers, publishers and artists, Geoff Keighley has promised that The Game Awards will feature "40 to 50 games". Additionally, as usual, there will be world premieres from many titles. During the last week, the host has been hyp sharining fans up by sharing information on social media and has also promised that "four or five" will be Elden Ring-level reveals.

There will also be time for movies and one of the protagonists will be the upcoming Sonic 2. The world-premier trailer will drop during The Game Awards and Keighley has hinted "a Sonic double header," which means that there will also be news regarding a new Sonic game.

Regarding musical performances, it's been confirmed that Sting will be performing "What Could Have Been" from the show Arcane and Imagine Dragons. Of course, there will also be time for celebrities and guests. Reggie Fils-Aime former Nintendo of America president will be back as usual and this year there will be many famous faces from cinema and TV such as: Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix), Jim Carrey and Ben Schwartz (Sonic the Hedgehog movie), Simu Liu (Shang-Chi) Giancarlo Esposito (Far Cry 6 and Breaking Bad) or Guillermo Del Toro.

The Game Awards is determined to keep beating all the viewership records and transform itself into the Video Game Oscars in an event that combines all kinds of fan favorite elements: awards, announcements and famous faces.
