PSG enter race to sign Rüdiger
The Ligue 1 side want to disrupt Real Madrid's plan to sign the Germany international and have met with the player's agent.
Real Madrid are already eyeing their next target, German defender Antonio Rüdiger. The 28-year-old centre-back is a Chelsea player until his contract ends in June 2022. Under the guidance of manager Thomas Tuchel, he has become one of the best in the world in his position.
Europe's top clubs show interest
Rüdiger is reportedly looking for a €12 million per season salary. Bayern Munich, who are very interested in signing him, are in the race with Madrid to secure his signature.
Manchester United and Juventus have also shown interest. European champions Chelsea are still hoping their defender signs a new deal at Stamford Bridge, however, Paris Saint-Germain are the latest club to show interest in the Germany international.
According to German outlet Bild, the player's agent, Sahr Senesie, and Leonardo, PSG's sporting director, were in talks recently regarding the player's future. The idea would be for Rüdiger to strengthen the Ligue 1 side's defence alongside Marquinhos, Kimpembe and Ramos. The club's Qatari owners are still aggrieved about the way in which Madrid have approached discussions over Kylian Mbappé. PSG are aware that almost no team in the world will be able to offer Rüdiger the sum of money they can currently afford to fork out.
Eyeing Madrid move
The outlook is not so positive for PSG. As this newspaper has been reporting and Bild confirms, the player's priority is to move to the Santiago Bernabéu next season. This is what he has told his entourage, who have already exchanged calls with Madrid with a view to a possible offer in January, when he will be free to negotiate or even sign for a new club. Los Blancos will free up over €30 million in salaries next summer with the likely departures of Bale, Marcelo and Isco.
