Juventus boss praises USMNT midfielder Weston McKennie

Weston McKennie is making a case to remain at Juventus even though the people in charge are willing to let him go during the winter transfer window. The United States international has scored in back-to-back matches for the Serie A side and the head coach, Massimiliano Allegri, has praised his level so far this campaign.

Allegri is content with McKennie’s performance

“He [McKennie] has played well and he was very good at attacking, especially in the right flank. But on the left wing he had trouble during the entire match, but overall he had a good game. The goal he made in the Supercoppa Italiana on Wednesday was on the right flank so he still needs some work to do,” said Allegri.

On Saturday Juventus defeated Udinese 2-0 and Weston McKennie scored a late goal to secure the victory. Earlier in the match Paulo Dybala scored the opening goal and helped his team win the three points. This was McKennie’s second goal in the Serie A this season and his third one across all competitions.

The United States men’s national team player is the only midfielder in Juventus that has reached double digits since arriving last season. So far he has scored a total of 10 goals with the Italian giants, while Adrien Rabiot and Aaron Ramsey have scored 6 each. It is not certain if McKennie will continue with Juventus and several teams are keen on signing him.
