SIGA Global Mentorship Program creating the next generation of female leaders
Katie Simmonds, SIGA COO, reflects on the Mentorship Program run by Sport Integrity Global Alliance and shares expectations for the next edition.
SIGA, the Sport Integrity Global Alliance, the world’s largest coalition fighting corruption and seeking good governance and integrity in sport, approaches its fourth year of running its Global Mentorship program. AS is a proud media partner of SIGA, and fully supports its mission to bring about meaningful reforms and enhance integrity throughout sport, as does this writer.
The SIGA Global Mentorship program, open to women 24 or over, is closing its application doors on January 31st. Check all details about the program here and how to apply as a mentee or become a mentor.
This six-month program isn’t just designed to promote aspiring female leaders in Sport and foster greater gender equality in the boardroom, but is also a great platform to create long lasting relationships and networking for women in any industry.
Past mentees include Latoya Dacosta, a senior event manager at Concacaf, who says the programme gave her “added focus and motivation” and enhanced her “personal and professional development.” In her opinion, participants, “improve skills, develop new ones, gain knowledge and generate new ideas as new ways of thinking are explored,” through the programme.

Commencing in March 2022, the program offers eight interactive Group Digital Workshops on a range of important topics, like Goal Setting, Leadership, Integrity and Mental Health, amongst others.
Mentees will be paired with one of the #SIGAWomen Global Mentors for a minimum of six bilateral sessions and will receive complimentary Digital Passes for Mastercard’s Summit on Female Leadership in Sport, in Manhattan, on 8 and 9 March 2022. Check the full benefits of the program below.

This program is creating a great community for all these women who are helping each other, which is helping with the legacy to create more opportunities for more female leadership positions.”

What will Mentees benefit from the Mentorship program?
- Contribute to SIGA’s global agenda, including the monthly #SIGAWoW Show
- Participate in SIGA’s flagship thought leadership event, the Sport Integrity Week, in September 2022;
- Be selected to participate in SIGA’s Internship Programme during August 2022 and gain invaluable work experience.
- Network with global peers and forge long lasting relationships within the industry at all levels;
- Apply for an internship at SIGA;
- Certificate and graduation ceremony held during Sport Integrity Week 2022.
