Real Madrid: Palmeiras to slap €100m price tag on Brazil wonderkid Endrick

Palmerias forward Endrick has drawn comparisons to Ronaldo and will turn 16 this summer, at which point the Brazilian side want to hand him a contract.

Real Madrid: Palmeiras to slap €100m price tag on Brazil wonderkid Endrick

Palmeiras are looking at the possibility of including a €100 million release clause in the contract of 15-year-old striker Endrick, according to reports in Brazil. The young Brazilian, who is seen as the future of the Canarinha and has been likened to Ronaldo Nazario, is a target for Real Madrid, Barcelona, Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City, among other European big-hitters.

Endrick shone in the recent Copinha de São Paulo, the most important junior tournament in Brazil that has served as the showcase for some of the country’s best players since the turn of the century, including Neymar, Vinicius Junior, with the 15-year-old scoring six during the tournament and finding the net in Palmerias’ 4-0 victory over Santos in the final.

The young striker has been prolific for his club’s youth teams, scoring 165 goals in 169 games since his debut in 2017, and has been widely tipped as the next big thing in Brazilian football.

Palmeiras hoping to hold off European interest in Endrick

Born in Brasilia, Endrick is a left-footed attacking player who has impressed scouts from across the world at the Copinha. Aware that they have a huge payday coming their way, Palmeiras are eager to hand Endrick a professional contract when he turns 16 in July.

“As a way of not losing him to the European market at the first opportunity, negotiations point to a minimum release clause of €100m,” reported Brazilian media outlet Lance.

Palmeiras are hoping to hold off interest from Europe for as long as possible but it seems inevitable Endrick will follow in the footsteps of many of his compatriots and make the move to one of the “big five” leagues eventually. However, he will not be able to do so until he reaches 18, as was the case with Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo when they signed for Real Madrid.

There will be plenty of interest in stealing a march on other suitors with an informal agreement before Endrick is allowed to move abroad and Madrid are said to be best-placed at the moment to snap up the youngster.
