Agüero: "I just feel like my heart doesn’t work properly"

Sergio Agüero has taken to Twitch to discuss life after retiring from football. Agüero was forced to retire from the game he loves in December after being diagnosed with a cardiac arrhythmia having only just joined FC Barcelona after a successful decade with Manchester City.

Brief spell at Camp Nou

Agüero ended up in hospital after he went down with chest pain in Barcelona’s 1-1 draw at home to Alavés in October. He scored one goal in only five appearances for the Catalan outfit, in a Clásico match against Real Madrid at Camp Nou.

The Argentine says that his heart issues have left him wondering whether he will ever be able to sprint again.

Speaking on Twitch, the former Argentina international said: "If I try to play football now, I run out of breath. Sometimes I wonder if I will ever be able to sprint again. I just feel like my heart doesn’t work properly."

City legend

Agüero scored 184 goals in 275 Premier League appearances for Man City, becoming the club’s all-time top scorer. During his spell at the Etihad, he won five Premier League titles.

At international level, Kun made 101 caps for Argentina and helped them to this year’s Copa America. He scored 41 goals for the Albiceleste.
