Yeferson Soteldo: "I gave away a year of my career in MLS"

Yeferson Soteldo joined Tigres UANL on the last day of the winter transfer window and has  already made his debut in Liga MX. The 24-year-old made 26 appearances across all competitions last season with MLS side Toronto FC and scored four goals and provided 10 assists.

The Venezuela international was in preseason when the transfer occurred so he is slowly reaching full fitness. Soteldo has come on as a substitute in two games with Tigres for a total of 22 minutes and he spoke about the process of adaptation in Mexico so far.

Soteldo seeks revenge in Mexico

Playing for Tigres is like a personal revenge for me after giving away a year of my career in Major League Soccer. So here I am, I came to compete and I hope to reach the level I had prior to joining Toronto,” said Soteldo during an interview with Multimedios Deportes.

Soteldo expects to earn the trust of Tigres’ head coach, Miguel Herrera, and he is confident that he can become a regular starter this season. The Venezuela international can earn his first start when Tigres UANL hosts Atlético San Luis on 19 February for matchday 6 of the tournament.
