The Nets' Kevin Durant jokes about Knicks fans after win

The Nets' Kevin Durant didn't play in Wednesday's historic win over the Knicks on Wednesday, but he definitely made up for it when he trolled Nets' fans.

Update:
The Nets' Kevin Durant didn't play in Wednesday's historic win over the Knicks on Wednesday, but he definitely made up for it when he trolled Nets' fans.

It would seem that Kevin Durant wasn't satisfied with seeing his team beat the Knicks, instead New York's main main took things a step further after the game.

Nets' Kevin Durant has a go at Knicks fans

On Wednesday, the Brooklyn Nets overturned a 28-point deficit on their way to an historic 111-106 comeback win over their bitter rivals the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden. While he wasn't on the court due to injury, All-Star Kevin Durant definitely felt the vibe after the victory, such that he had to let the Knicks' fans know about it as well. "Nets fans were loud in the barc...I mean the garden tonight," Durant posted on social media following the Brooklyn's win.

What happened in the Knicks vs Nets game?

Durant's banter aside, the reality is the Nets were definitely worth the watch on a night when Nets guard Cam Thomas led his side with a team-high 21 points on 9-of-21 shooting. Interestingly 16 of Thomas' 21 points in the fourth quarter including the game winning 3pointer which he scored with less than seven seconds remaining on the clock. Indeed it was during that fateful final quarter that Thomas helped his team to maintain a four minute 15-0 run, allowing Brooklyn to not only get back in the game, but take the lead.

Where the rest of the cast is concerned, the Nets were also buoyed by new boys Seth Curry and Andre Drummond, both of whom arrived last week alongside Ben Simmons from the Philadelphia 76ers last week. Curry specifically was the architect of a 20 point effort that saw six of nine shots scored from outside the arc, while Drummond contributed a credible 11 points with a note worth 19 rebounds.

Durant is out, but what's the Nets' situation?

For the moment the Nets will have to do without the services of their star. Durant is currently sidelined as a result of an MCL sprain and has actually not played since January 15th. Meanwhile Kyrie Irving is still not authorized to play in home games, due to his unvaccinated status which runs counter to New York's vaccine mandate. Then there is of course the situation surround recent acquisition Ben Simmons. When will Simmons play? That question remains unanswered following his refusal to participate in training and games with the 76ers. Watch this space.
