Update:
Real Madrid: Lunin sends out an SOS for Ukraine

Real Madrid-s second choice goalkeeper Andriy Lunin is well aware of the difficult situation which his family and compatriots find themselves back home in Ukraine which has been brutally attacked by Russian forces. Worried, anxious but in many ways, powerless, Lunin felt he needed to do something to help - which is why he has let know Madrid residents who want to show solidarity towards Ukraine a way they can help.

Lunin, total support from Real Madrid

The first to show support and solidarity to Lunin, his family and countrymen was his employers Real Madrid. The club, president Florentino Pérez, coach Carlo Ancelotti and his team mates are all very concerned for the Ukrainian keeper, who understandably has been affected by Russia's military invasion of his homeland. In yesterday's press conference, Ancelotti told reporters, "War is nothing but horror. Lunin is very worried because some of the people close to him live near Kiev, I think his mother is there. Understandably, he's not as upbeat as he usually is. Training sessions are helping a little for him to take his mind off things. Both myself and the president have spoken to him. We want to make him know that the whole club is behind him".

Lunin is trying to keep his mind off things by regularly posting on social media. He has also asked for help from the Spanish public. In an SOS message, he gave the address of a Ukrainian supermarket in Madrid, Ucramarket, which offers typical Ukrainian products from back home to expats living in the capital. Madrileños can cooperate and show solidarity during these difficult moments by heading to the supermarket which is next to Atocha RENFE train station. As Lunin detailed, "Dear Spanish people and everyone who wants to help Ukraine during these difficult times; in Calle Méndez Álvaro No.8, Ucramarket, from 11:00 until 17:00 hours, they need tinned food, cotton wool, elastic bands, bandages, medical gauze, painkillers (Ibuprofen, Aspirin). Clothes: warm socks. Thank you very much for your cooperation".
