What is Drake's net worth? How much money does he make?

Despite being one of the most successful musicians of recent times, the Canadian rapper fails to make the top 10 richest musicians in the world listing.

Drake is back in the headlines after putting his Hidden Hills mansion in California up for sale. The Canadian has put the main mansion of the three estates on the market with an asking price just shy of $15 million with singer Britney Spears rumoured to be one of the interested buyers.

Grammy controversy

Last December, Drake was also in the news as he withdrew from the Grammy Awards, removing his two nominations for music's highest honors.

The 35-year-old got two Grammy nominations in the rap field - best rap album for "Certified Lover Boy" and best rap performance for his song "Way 2 Sexy."

The sources said the request to pull out of consideration was made by the rapper and his management but gave no reasons for the move. His "Certified Lover Boy" was one of the top-selling albums of 2021 and the move came following his criticism for shutting out fellow Canadian The Weeknd from its nominations list. In 2019 Drake declined to perform at the ceremony then criticized the awards show from the stage.

"I wanna let you know we’re playing in an opinion-based sport not a factual-based sport," he said while accepting the Grammy for his single "God's Plan."

"This is a business where sometimes it’s up to a bunch of people who might not understand what a mixed race kid from Canada has to say or a fly Spanish girl from New York or anybody else," Drake added.

Drake's wealth

With a net worth of just over $180 million, the Toronto born fails to dent the Forbes Top 10 musician rich list (topped incidentally by Kanye West on $1.9 billion) but does feature on the same listing focusing solely on the rap game as Drake clocks in at eighth on the ranking behind the likes of West, Dr. Dre, Emimen, P. Diddy and Master P.

With six studio albums under his belt, Drake is the highest-certified digital singles artist ever in the United States, having moved 142 million units based on combined sales.

The Canadian also co-owns clothing line October's Very Own, record label (OVO Sound), and radio station and is an ambassador for the NBA's Toronto Raptors. The rapper also boasts an impressive real estate portfolio with a mansion in his native Toronto along with the Hidden Hills estate with three adjacent houses.
