2023 Grammy Award Nominations: The Full List

The 65th annual awards show is moving back to the Crypto.com Arena after taking place in Las Vegas back in 2022.

Although the venue has changed, the host hasn’t, as Trevor Noah will be taking the Grammy stage for the third year in a row.

The ceremony is set to take place on February 5, 2023, and just by the nominations alone, viewers can be expecting a star and hit-filled night.

Who is leading this year’s nominees:

Beyoncé leads the 2023 Grammy Awards with a total of nine nods, which includes categories like Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Dance/Electronic Music Album for her latest album “Renaissance.”

Right behind her is Kendrick Lamar with eight nominations, which includes Best Melodic Rap Performance, Best Rap Song, and Song of the Year for his album “Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers.”

With their albums “In These Silent Days” and “30″ being chart toppers in 2022 it’s no surprise that Brandi Carlile and Adele are tied with seven nominations each, two of which are in the same category.

The star power continues in this year’s list with the last big winners in terms of nominations being Mary J. Blige, Future, and Harry Styles, who each have six nominations for the award show.

Snubs/ excluded:

Even with so many amazing artists getting nominated, the Grammy’s couldn’t get to everyone. Music fans were quick to realize that artists such as country stars Morgan Wallen and Lainey Wilson, rising artists like Dove Cameron and Tate McRae, and even rap icon Nicki Minaj didn’t make the final nomination list even after having successful years in the music industry.

First-time nominees:

The music industry is competitive but these artists were able to not only secure a spot at the 65th annual awards show but also be first-time nominees.

Leading the first-time nomination list is Wet Leg and Muni Long with a total of three nominations each. Wet Leg is nominated for Best Alternative Music Album for their self-titled album, Best Alternative Music Performance for their song “Chaise Longue”, and Best New Artist. While Muni Long is nominated for Best R&B Song and Best R&B Performance for “Hrs & Hrs” as well as Best New Artist.

GloRilla was nominated alongside Hitkidd for their song “F.N.F. (Let’s Go)” in the Best Rap Performance category.

Latto racked up two nominations, one for her hit song “Big Energy” in the Best Melodic Rap Performance category and the other in the Best New Artist category.

Kim Petras made the list for her collaboration with Sam Smith and their song “Unholy” in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category.

Gayle took her spot as a nominee for Song of the Year with her viral hit “abcdefu.”

Samara Joy earned two nominations this year, one for Best New Artist and the other for her album “Linger Awhile” in the Best Jazz Vocal Album category.

Actress Viola Davis is adding a new type of nomination to her long list of achievements after she was nominated in the Best Audio Book, Narration, and Storytelling Recording category for “Finding Me.”

And last but not least rising stars such as Tobe Nwigwe, Anitta, Molly Tuttle, Omar Apollo, DOMi & JD Beck and Måneskin earned their first nomination in the Best New Artist category.

The 65th annual Grammy Awards will air live on Sunday, Feb. 5 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on CBS and Paramount+, until then you can check out the full list of nominees below.
